| Canoeing & Cycling Tour |

Day 1 |
Meet at the airport and transfer to a hotel in Colombo for
overnight stay. Afternoon, city tour in Colombo. |
Day 2 |
Early morning proceed to Kithulgala thereafter cycling from
Kithulgala to Belilena Cave which is about two and half hours from Kithulgala Rest House
or Kithulgala Plantation. |
Day 3 |
After breakfast proceed for white water rafting at
Kithulgala. After lunch proceed to Belihul Oya. You will stay in a hotel or
camping site. |
Day 4 |
After breakfast cycling towards Samanalawawe Reservoir
through the village. This village is called Kinchigune. According to the
legends it says that during King Dutugamunu's period all swords and steel weapons were
manufactured in this particular village. Therefore it has a great historic
value. Lunch will be served (packed lunches). Afternoon return back to camp
site or hotel. |
Day 5 |
After breakfast proceed to Kalupahana by cycling and
thereafter proceed to Horton Plains. The reason is steep climb and narrow sharp
bends. From there proceed to Babarakanda Water Falls, the highest waterfall in Sri
Lanka about 790 feet high. Lunch will be provided. End of the day return to
camp site, hotel or cottage. |
Day 6 |
After Breakfast visit Pahanthudu Ella. It will take
about 4½ hours. Daily schedule from 14:30 to 19:00. The trail starts from the
hotel restaurant where a briefing about nature is given after that we go to the main road,
200 m towards Colombo through the village (Seelogama) to the damp semi evergreen forest,
to the next village (Binthenigolla), through the terraced paddy fields, along the channel
about 200 m, up to a small patina, up again to a damp semi evergreen forest, through the
forest to the summit where is an abandoned chena, down the other side of mountain through
the forest, across the Belihuloya river to visit the waterfall (Pahanthueda Ella), climb
up to the village of Palaha Galagama, down along Pahala Galagama road to the main road and
back to the cottage, campsite, hotel for dinner and overnight stay. |
Day 7 |
After breakfast transfer to airport for departure. |

| Important Notes |
|
The facilities at the campsites are basic and will include accommodation
in camping tents (2 persons per tent), sleeping mattresses, sheets, pillows, torches,
towels, soap, and camping toilet facilities.
It is recommended to bring sunglasses, sunburn lotion, insect or leach
repellent and personal effects for warm or windy or rainy conditions. |
